Is there a Jive 7 browser compatibility matrix?
The specified item was not found.
We support the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari. When it comes to Internet Explorer we've end of lifed version 7, deprecated version 8 and fully support 9 and 10. In other words IE8 may still work, but we strongly advise users to upgrade to IE9. From how things sound at the moment by Jive 8 IE8 will likely be completely unsupported.
This would be a good question for Jive Interactive Intranet
or for Jive Support Resources
Jim, you should note that current this discussion is just associated with you personally. So unless someone is following you, their unlikely to see it. I would recommend that you put it into one of these two spaces (next time) and at mention other places where you think it might be relevant/helpful.
Thank you Roguen! I did post it to the community, but I'll accept user error on this. Thanks for pointing it out!
I found browser compatibility issue in chrome .., browser.
when I play a YouTube video link with Video (iframe ) inside Jive..,
- In Chrome, the videos do not display at all.
- When using IE, the videos display AFTER you accept the warning about non secure content.
- We added a video using the Embed Video tool and the video still does not show in Chrome but does so in IE.
Amy suggestion here?
I would recommend utilizing the video function in Jive itself, rather than an iframe. Not all browsers will pull in an iframe, depending on the browser settings. What version of Jive are you on?
lauramac, firstname.lastname@example.org - I found below statement in the Jive 7.0 community help doc
Note: Compatibility mode with earlier versions is not supported. Internet Explorer 11 is supported in Jive 7.0.1 and higher.
What exactly compatibility mode means here?
Some users on BMC communities are not able to do some certain tasks such as create a discussion/doc, not able to read inbox after hitting on Activity button on IE8 & IE9.
Should I ask them to upgrade IE11?
Any update on this??
