Has anyone else run into this issue? The latest version of Google Chrome for Windows (Version 35.0.1916.153 m) will not allow me to enable Jive Anywhere. It says it did not come from the Chrome Web Store.
tmaurer and mavetere, Did the JA extension was installed via the MSI?
Chrome in the latest version started to block extensions that weren't downloaded from the Chrome store, Meaning MSI,EXE (Google Chrome Blog: Protecting Chrome users from malicious extensions)
Currently as a workaround you can remove the current JA add-on and download it from "Tools" page in your community (this will download JA extension from the Chrome store)
Didn't specifically notice that, but did notice that JA suddenly disappeared from my Chrome. Didn't have time to investigate, but assume it is the same issue you have noted here.
mavital - are you guys aware of and working on this?
That did the trick Koby Rodrig! Thanks.
We used the MSI so that it could be incorporated into standard corporate builds. Does this mean that any of our employees who want to use this will need to add it themselves from Tools? And those for whom it was already installed will need to uninstall and reinstall?
The software team should uninstall the MSI and set up a group policy to install JA. It can be installed from the Chrome store or a local web server.
You need to create the following path for group policy of the domain:
Inside ExtensionInstallForcelist create a new string value
Thanks, guys. I've passed along to the IT team. I assume it will make sense to them.
